The Chicago Burbs - Joliet

Joliet, Illinois is 40 miles southwest of Chicago. It was founded in the mid-1800s. It is the fastest growing city in Illinois, with a population of approximately 152,000 residents. It is divided in half by the Des Plaines River. The western side being the nicer part of town, while the east side of the river is a little more run down. Home to Lionel Richie and Daniel Ruettiger (Rudy) among several other notable people. For those of you familiar, it reminded quite a bit of a larger, less redneck, Winchester, VA. Here are a few shots of the nicer neighborhood in town. This particular day started out pretty dark and gray, but the sun made an appearance towards sunset.
