We started in the saddle of two ridges and headed down into a canyon. Boulder Creek roared past. We hiked along the creek for a bit, and then up and out til we reached a meadow.
We hiked through the meadow and back down a ridge. We carefully descended down a cliff side back to the creek. The dogs ran down as surefooted as mountain goats. We sat by the creek and ate lunch while the dogs drank some water and grazed on the fresh green grass.
After we ate, we walked along a dirt road for a short distance, which led away from the creek. There were several different types of wildflowers along the way. Then, we turned off the dirt road and climbed up a steep ridge, above where we started. By then, the low clouds had been blown away by the gusty winds, allowing for spectacular views.
