Mt Evans

Red Feather and Lost Lake

This past weekend we went camping with a large group of friends. It was rainy when we arrived, but the storm cleared through in the early evening. Only Nick, Jamie, and I were brave enough to take a dip in the lake. It was chilly, but totally refreshing. I find myself often drawn to rivers and lakes. There is nothing appealing about a pool filled with peeing children, dirty bodies, and so many chemicals the prior shouldn't matter. Taking a swim in an abandoned mountain lake is nothing short of rejuvenating and calming. The day ended with another beautiful Colorado Sunset.

Grey Rock

Two weeks ago, Nick and I set out to hike Grey Rock. This is one of the more challenging hikes near Fort Collins, and the last two times I hadn't even made it to the top. In no better shape than before, I set my mind to "no turning back." It took us almost 3 hours to summit, but the views were well worth it. I need more hikes like this in my life. Though I must admit, walking was a little sore for a few days after.
